2012’s Mirror Mirror, directed by Tarsem Singh, is yet another updated fairy tale, although plastered over with the director’s distinctive visual style. Matt and Drew both had less-than-positive reactions to the results.

Mirror Mirror is an update of the story of Snow White, starring Lilly Collins as Snow White; Julia Roberts as The Queen; Armie Hammer as Prince Alcott; Nathan Lane as Brighton; and Danny Woodburn as Grimm.

The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Costume Design, by frequent Singh collaborator, Eiko Ishioka. Ishioka passed away shortly after production on Mirror Mirror ended, and the film is dedicated to her memory. Ultimately, Mirror Mirror did not win the Oscar. Also nominated that year were Les Miserables; Lincoln; Snow White & The Huntsman; and the eventual winner, Anna Karenina.
